What's Next: Canada-US Relations in the Age of Trump
Please join us for one day conference, led by Massey College’s Chair in Public Policy Tom Axworthy, to discussion the future of Canada-US relationships.
The re-election of Donald Trump as President of the United States will create nearly unprecedented foreign policy, national security and economic challenges for Canada as the agenda of Mr Trump is radically different from the consensus that has prevailed in Canada and many other allies of the US since the Second World War. Since the early 20th century, the United States has always been regarded as Canada’s friend: how do we cope if that assumption is no longer true? Join us at Massey College or on livestream on January 20, 2025, to explore What’s Next: Canadian American Relations in the Age of Trump.
We will be joined by keynote speaker Amanda Lang who will be in conversation with Tom Axworthy.
Panellists/moderators include Robert Baines, Kevin Bryan, Soula Chronopoulus, Jack Cunningham, Constantine Karayannopoulos, Marianne Lahaie Luna, Rosemary McCarney, John Meehan, Tim Murphy, Trang Nguyen, Brian Topp, Christine Van Geyn, and Jamie Watt.
We want to thank our co-sponsors The NATO Association of Canada and The Bill Graham Centre of Contemporary History.
