Gordon Foundation, The Walter & Duncan
Description:
Who We Are
The WALTER AND DUNCAN GORDON FOUNDATION is a charitable organization dedicated to protecting Canada's water and empowering Canada's North. We seek opportunities to amplify underrepresented voices, elevate emerging issues, and collaborate with like-minded organizations to drive powerful, sustainable outcomes.
What We Do
We design and deliver programs to support public policy development, implementation and understanding by conducting and disseminating research, supporting leadership development, and providing a forum for public discourse. We act as a catalyst to engage key constituents who share our vision for a dynamic Canadian north.
Why We Do It
We believe that Canada's two most valued attributes are also our most vulnerable and misunderstood. We are therefore committed to ensuring public policy in Canada supports sound water management and an equitable, evolving, healthy North.
How We Got Here
For over 50 years the Foundation has dedicated resources to ensuring that public policy in Canada reflects our founders' values of independent thought, protecting the environment, and full participation of Indigenous Peoples in decision-making.
