Kathy Bickmore
Biography:
KATHY BICKMORE is Professor in the Curriculum and Pedagogy and Comparative International and Development Education programs at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto. She studies and teaches about young people’s lived citizenship and school learning opportunities relevant to making and building peace and just democracy, in international and local contexts.
Her current research is Learning Amidst Disinformation and Social Conflict: Young People and Teachers Co-Constructing Curriculum through Transnational Dialogue (Trans-Atlantic Partnership). She is Editor of Constructive Conflict Pedagogies for Building Democratic Peace: Teaching Strategies from around the World. Bloomsbury Academic (Peace & Human Rights Education Series; forthcoming 2025) and Co-editor of Comparative and International Education: Issues for Teachers (Canadian Scholars Press 2017).
