Nabeel Shakeel Ahmed

Biography:

NABEEL SHAKEEL AHMED is a Management Consultant at the City of Toronto, working on urban technology policy issues such as smart cities, digital infrastructure, data governance, digital equity, and supporting a turn towards technology in the public interest. He specialist in the use of data and technology in cities, with strong skills in research, analysis, project management, and community engagement.

Ahmed's last role was with Open North, where he helped launch the Advisory Service, helping communities across Canada consider, design and implement smart city initiatives. Previously, he worked for over seven years in the social enterprise, not-for-profit and international development sectors in Canada, Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Ahmed combines a deep knowledge of social innovation and urban policy with a passion for civic engagement and social justice. With a background in business and public administration, he am interested in addressing "wicked problems" through collaboration.

Ahmed has a Master of Environmental Studies (City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning) from York University, in Toronto, a Certificate in Public Administration from Ryerson University, in Toronto, and Bachelor of Business Administration from the Institute of Business Administration, in Karachi.
