Christy Upshall

Biography:

CHRISTY UPSHALL is the Chief Executive Officer of Our Place Peel, where she has led the organization since 2016. Having been with the agency since 1998, she brings more than 25 years of experience spanning frontline work, management, and executive leadership.

Christy oversees the organization’s strategic direction, operations, and program development, ensuring youth experiencing homelessness in Peel Region have access to essential supports and opportunities. Her deep understanding of the sector is grounded in decades of direct service and leadership within one of the region’s most critical youth-serving organizations.

In addition to her role as CEO, Christy serves as Board Chair at St. Leonard’s Place Peel and is the Co-Chair of the Peel Alliance to End Homelessness (PAEH). She is actively engaged in policy advocacy within the homelessness sector and serves on the Leadership Team for the Metamorphosis Network, a coalition of over 100 non-profit organizations in Peel working collaboratively to strengthen community services and advocate for equitable funding and systems change. Christy is a passionate advocate for strengthening community-based responses to homelessness and advancing systems that empower young people to build stable, positive futures.
